Description
A portrait of a lady in profile to the right, her head slightly turned towards the viewer, with a melancholic expression; her hair is lying close to her head, with a plait braided as a wreath above it and a curl above the nape of her neck in front of an undefined field in the manner of dots.
Provenance
old family property; before 1942 Wolfsburg Palace (until 1932 Gardelegen County, Province of Saxony; then Gifhorn County, Province of Hanover; today City of Wolfsburg); then moved to the newly built Neumühle Palace near Tangeln, municipality of Beetzendorf in the Altmark County of Salzwedel, where it is located: "Study of the master of the house, main floor"; left behind in 1945 during the flight from Neumühle Palace before it was taken over by the Red Army; Neumühle Palace was assigned to the Soviet occupation zone and expropriated; whereabouts unknown
