Description
The tennin sits quietly on the floor. In both raised hands he holds the mouth organ. On his head sits a richly decorated diadem with pendants. The flattened back shows that the figure was attached to a shrine or a giant gloriole.

Acquired by Ginsberg in 1909 from the firm Pergamenter, Berlin ; 1909 - 1942 Ostasiatica Collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; in 1942 large parts of the Ginsberg collection were confiscated in Rotterdam by the Sicherheitsdienst (SD); whereabouts unknown
