On the bank of a river, two old wise men sit on a rock, contemplating the high rocks of the other bank, partly hidden by clouds.

Acquired by Ginsberg in 1908 in Peking; 1908 -1942 Ostasiatica Collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; in 1942 large parts of the Ginsberg collection in Rotterdam were confiscated by the Sicherheitsdienst (SD); whereabouts unknown
