Description
The blade of the aikuchi, a dagger-like short sword, is undecorated. The iron fittings with tendrils and gold inlays resemble a band of cloth laid in strict folds. The fittings are attached to the lower and upper ends of the scabbard. There are no fittings on the fuchi (sword ferrule) and kashira (end cap). The handle is made of ebony. The menuki, decorative element on the handle, has small silver leaves. The scabbard of the dagger is covered with black lacquer and dark green mother-of-pearl lacquer.

acquired by Ginsberg in 1908 in Japan; 1908 -1942 Ostasiatica Collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; in 1942 large parts of the Ginsberg collection in Rotterdam were confiscated by the Sicherheitsdienst (SD); whereabouts unknown
