Description
Oval, foldable cover. Made of gold, walls, bottom and cover engraved with guilloche pattern (laurel garlands, vases) partly covered with transparent green enamel. In the middle of the cover a small picture made of enamel in grisaille: Young man with two ladies under a tree on red ground. A moulded, golden frame. Smooth gold inside. Mark: Inside of cover and bottom: Jb. C crowned, Paris, 1766 -1767, not at R., Pz. R.6519, J.J. Prevost, 1762 - 1768, master sign CLB, Charles Le Bastier, Mr. 1751 - 1782 (R.6698), next 1417, at rim dogs head R.6516 (?)
