Provenance
Since 1729 70 costumes in the literature and in the inventory books can be found in the Schloss Favorite Rastatt (erected approx. 1710-1725) as a complete series until 1929. They were therefore in the Favorite for more than 200 years and they came from the property of the markgraves of Baden-Baden in state property. After 1929 losses resulted in the original total stock, mainly as a result of seizures, which took place in the years 1939 to 1947. In the year 2000, ten missing costume paintings from the art trade could be reclaimed. A total of 14 of these unique costumes are still missing.
