History
In the autumn of 1943, Josef Wybicki's archive and estate was handed over to Walther Bayrhoffer (then a member of the Reichsbank Board of Directors in Berlin) for safekeeping in the Reichsbank's deep vault in three reseda green boxes containing handwritten notes by J. Wybicki (manuscripts of various books, parts of his correspondence and the original manuscript "Jescze Polska...") so that the files would be safe from bombing. After the capture of Berlin by the Red Army, no Reichsbank employee was initially allowed to access the deep vault and later it was empty.
