Description
Silver bell-shaped beaker with a short foot. Engraved with the coat of arms of the Möhler and the inscription: Philipp Jaacob Moehler Kauff und Handels Herrn / nat. Francfort. Aō 1694 d. 24. Oktobr. denat. Dreſsden d. 15. Januar 1770 / überreichet einer Löbl. Handels u. Crahmer Innung diesen Becher / dessen Neven Friedrich Wilhelm Möhler Bürger und Handels Herr / in Franckfurth am Mayn den 1. Frebruar. Augsburger assay mark and a maker's mark.
Provenance
Until May 1945, the object was kept in the Dresden City Hall (seat of the Dresden City Museum). It was stored there together with the other handicraft exhibits of the museum - packed in boxes - in the cellar. Lost since the end of the war.
