Sketch shows three sailboats docked in a harbor in the foreground, with houses or buildings in the background.
Provenance
The claimant's parents, formerly of Barbarossa Strasse 49, Chemnitz, Germany, attempted to ship their paintings out of Chemnitz in 1939 using Schenker & Co. Their lifts were confiscated in Hamburg on May 19, 1941, and its contents were sold by the Nazis at the Auktionator Schluter at Vallentiskamp 79, Hamburg 36. The sales proceeds went to the Finanzamt Hamburg.
