Claimant’s parents were arrested in Berlin on July 1942, at which time they still had possession of six of their paintings while and another six were in storage in Hamburg (awaiting shipment to the U.S.). They were deported to Theresienstadt, and all twelve paintings were confiscated by the Gestapo.
