Slender, ovoid body; flat shoulder with high slight conical neck.

Décor:

Above the stand a wide area with numerous small birds; three very large lobed leaves with two growing flower tendrils, strong twigs, small leaves and larger flowers, a decorative flower ensemble in the center; a large caterpillar and a cockchafer sits on the left ground; numerous, flying insects between the branches; the shoulder seems unpainted; around the neck a broad gold border of geometric lines and flower rosettes.

Manufacture's mark: underglaze blue AR monogram (steep).

Commentray:

The cover shown on the historical photo has been preserved: SKD, porcelain collection, inv. no. PE 5440 (HMA No. III 102); Dimensions: h. 6.5 cm, d. 10 cm.

Provenance
Dresden Castle, tower room; the collection of porcelain, together with the carpets, furnishings from the porcelain gallery and scientific material (10 boxes), was relocated to 16 different locations in a total of 1211 boxes. The relocation sites, some of which were castles and manor houses, served as refugee accommodation after 1945. As part of the collection was later offered for sale by private individuals or found in private estates, it is assumed that some of the losses were due to looting and destruction. According to the loss report for the porcelain collection from 1991, a partial transport to the Soviet Union cannot be ruled out.
