Description
One of six cups without handles on a low, cinched foot; enamel painting: arabesques and cartouches with ruin landscapes; belongs to Ahv 351 and 353 to 358.
Provenance
Gifted by the Russian tsarina Catherine II to duchess Auguste of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld; her grandson duke Ernest II of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha then gave the teapot and several pieces from other sets to the Ducal Museum in 1878. […]. Three of the tea bowls are currently in the possession of the Kunstgewerbesammlung of Bielefeld, Huelsmann Foundation.
