Description
Signed lower left: J H 1848. Five half-naked shepherd boys between flowers and fruit under vine-covered trees. On the right one of the boys is lying, blowing his flute, leaning against a beech trunk. Next to him a younger one is caressing a lamb. In the middle the third one is listening. On the left at the spring the fourth is stroking a large dog, the fifth with a red Phrygian cap. In the back on the right the sunny bay.
