Description
Fruits and flowers in an faience dish, ears of corn, blackberry tendrils, medlars and nuts; a roemer and a glass on the left, a lobster and apricots on the right; a purple tablecloth with gold embroidery hangs from the table.
Provenance
Acquired in 1804 by duke Ernest II of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg from the widow of privy council Hüsgen in Frankfurt on the Main for 75 louis d'or, before that it used to belong to the prince Charles of Lorraine (cf. note in the 1854 inventory). [...]. In 1943 still in the museum (catalog 1943, p. 96); current location: Pushkin Museum Moscow, object 101072, no. ЭЖ-1041 (80 x 70 cm).
