Old Couple at the Table

Signed on the right side of the bench: „IVCR“; an old couple sit at the table, while Death looks in through the door; the man, who wears a red coat, blue cloak and high gray cap, has his eyes closed and his head is resting in his hand; he has drawn with chalk on the table in front of him; the woman wears a broad-rimmed black hat and warms her hands at the brazier; on the right, there are a pot on a barrel and a pewter jug on the floor; the paintwork is slightly dull, but colourful.
