Description
White circumcision curtain (Brit Milah curtain) made of linen with an embroidered pattern of alternating circles and crescents and a surrounding frame of interlocking chain links. In a frame in the centre is the embroidered Hebrew inscription "Zechor Berit Avraham" (Eng. "Remember the covenant with Abraham") as well as two cups and a knife used in the circumcision ceremony. Curtains of this kind were often donated on the occasion of a circumcision and then hung in the synagogue in front of the Torah shrine.
