Left below signed "J. Baader".
Provenance
The two paintings (inv.no.: 9514 und 9513) were acquired in 1944 by the art shop Carl Nicolai Meineckestr. 2, Berlin, for the price of 12,000 RM. The paintings probably came from the Fugger Palace. In the exhibition catalogue
of 1947, Norbert Lieb attributed the two paintings to the artist Johann Baader (1717-1780). They were later attributed to the artist Joseph Baader (2nd half of the 18th century).
