Torah pointer with chain for attachment to the Torah scroll. At the tip of the pointer is a solid cast hand with an outstretched index finger (reading aid). The handle has three spheres that increase in size towards the end of the handle and are decorated with circles and stars. The first grip section below the hand and the first sphere is turned flat, the second grip section is octagonal. There is a closed crack in the handle area. There is an eyelet with a chain on the largest ball.
Provenance
Previous owner: presumably the Jewish community in Hagen
The object is a Jewish cultural asset that clearly originates from Nazi-related persecution and presumably came into the possession of the city museum as part of expropriation.
