Description
The chest of drawers is in very poor condition. The top is slightly bowed, water stains cover the surface, there are some veneer repulsions, cracks on both cheeks, anobia pitting in several softwood parts and a front stand is broken off. It has three drawers with more recently refinished brass handles and is supported on both sides by turned columns. Stylistically, it is a historicist version of a so-called Louis XIII commode, recognisable by the plain and somewhat chunkier Renaissance style elements. The veneer technique clearly refers this chest of drawers to the 19th century or the Gründerzeit.
