Provenance
Purchased in 1987 in a bundle from Dr. H.-D. Grospietsch, Stuttgart. The client and owner of the bookplate was a Dr. med. Josef Klüber (1873-1936). After the National Socialists seized power in 1933, he was targeted by the new rulers as an opponent of euthanasia. On 8 July 1935 he was beaten out of his official residence and ill-treated. He was released from the city hospital in Landau/Palatinate months later and was forced into retirement on 1 January 1936. Gap in provenance. Suspicious, as the whereabouts during the National Socialist era are unknown.
