In expectation of
Fisherman's wife with 2 children at the Baltic Sea beach in a stormy sea (alternative title from the access book)
The painting "In Erwartung" by Hermann Kauffmann shows a fisherwoman with a child staring at the turbulent sea to look out for her husband's return. (Short description from the literature)
At the narrow Baltic beach, washed over by the tide, a fisherwoman stands, her eyes fixed on the stormy sea and the darkening sky. She is wearing the simple working dress of the Probsteier. With a toddler in her hand and a baby in her arms, protected from the increasing wind under her apron, she searches the horizon for the missing fishing boat. Not far from the waiting people lies a fishing boat together with two hat barrels and a rolled up line. In the middle ground, three men and one woman are struggling to pull another boat onto the beach. (Longer description from the literature)
