Description
On the broad margin are reliefs in the early Renaissance style (vases with flowers), which alternate with coat of arms medallions: Württemberg coat of arms, then the cities of Stuttgart, Reutlingen, Kirchheim, Calw, Cannstadt, Tübingen and Ravensburg.
The mirror shows a armed rider, inscribed by inscription: Eberhard D. C. Dux WIRD.
The plate is the infusion of an Augsburg reliquary of the Renaissance.
Provenance
Purchased in 1933 by the Kunst- und Altertumsverein e.V., Tübingen, for 6 RM, previous owner unknown. In 1941 with the dissolution of the association passed into the possession of the Municipal Collection.
