Panel painting Finding and exaltation of the True Cross

On the back of the painting various adhesive labels are attached. Among other things, a white adhesive label with the word "Bernhard Strigel 1460-1520 Die Auffindung des wahren Kreuzes". Hand the inventory number of the Collection Schäfer 4746 is attached and the current inventory number M 444 art collections of the Veste Coburg. Another white adhesive label with blue edge bears the inscription "162 5294". Possibly a reference to an auction or exhibition. Furthermore, can be found on the back of the painting, a stamp "Service des Expositions" of Douanes Francaises. This was probably installed when the painting was sent to auction in 1926 from Paris to the Lucerne auction house Fischer.
