Description
The painting shows resting hussars in the open air. In the left part of the picture, a soldier dressed as an old woman is leaning against the remains of a wall, flirting with another soldier in uniform. To their right sits a soldier in a yellow cloak, writhing with laughter. Behind the group of people three horses are depicted. In the background, at the right edge of the picture, there is a horseman in a back view, above him the cloudy sky. The work is signed and dated "P. Hess 1850" on the lower right.
